New Zealand National Parks Scenic Flight

This full-on air adventure takes you over the most spectacular mountain wilderness of the Kahurangi National Park – home to ancient, imposing geology, extraordinary landscapes and the most diverse and sought-after national parks in New Zealand.

Marvel at the park’s unique Karamea river system and the stunning Garibaldi cliff faces before heading onto Karamea town for our first stop.

Soar up the stunning, rugged and unrivaled West Coast towards West Haven Inlet and Farewell Spit. This takes us up the coast past Heaphy River and the Heaphy Track, along stretches of private beaches, the Kahurangi Lighthouse, a marine and wildlife reserve, and up the island’s northernmost coast, which is home to Wharariki beach (and their amazing seal colonies).

At the very tip of the South Island, pass above New Zealand’s longest sand spit, Farewell Spit, and onto the sheltered shoreline of Golden Bay. Travel the length of Bay’s glorious beaches and round the Abel Tasman National Park’s most northern edge before heading South, back to Motueka, over the Park’s brilliant blue coastal waters, offshore islands and utterly idyllic scenery.

Three stops are included in this package:

  • Karamea township (coffee stop at the Last Resort)
  • Beach location and picnic lunch (or lunch at West Haven Lodge if you’d prefer)
  • Wilderness location (weather dependent)
